Great Husband Tips

Do Something Random (well almost random) This Valentine’s Day

Gentlemen, it’s almost Valentine’s Day.  That means pretty much everywhere you look there will be couples holding hands and engaging in other public displays of affection. If you are in a relationship and are looking for a way to make this year’s celebration more memorable and special than ever, forget the clichés and think of something a bit more random to do with your loved one.

Chocolates, flowers and romantic dinners for two are all well and good, but isn’t that what happens every year? Why not make things a bit different this time around with a few of these ideas?

Random - 52 reasons I love you

Wine and Chocolate Tours

Instead of just drinking wine and giving chocolates to your loved one this Valentine’s Day, why not go behind the scenes to see how these products are made. Not only will you get a great insight into the stuff you normally don’t get to see, there are bound to be free samples at the end as well. Consider a wine master class at somewhere like Vinopolis in London or a chocolate tasting tour in one of these locations around the country.

Visit The Observatory

Space seems to have a romantic feel about it sometimes, which is often why you see couples on evening strolls gazing up at the stars together. Why not Random - Give your partner the starslook into your future together, while also learning about the cosmos by taking a visit to your local observatory or planetarium. There are plenty situated all over the country, including this one in Bristol.

Stage A Charity Fun Run

If you would prefer to be a bit more active this Valentine’s Day, then why not take a page out of America’s activity book and stage a fun run for charity? For the fifth year running, Cupid’s Undie Run will be held in multiple cities across the United States; helping to raise thousands of dollars for The Children’s Tumor Foundation.

The run is only just over a mile long and everybody completes the course in nothing more than their best underwear; meaning a fun and (sort of) romantic day is had by all. If you can’t make it to any of the locations in the U.S. this Valentine’s weekend then why not stage your own similar event for a good cause.

Re-enact A Date From The Past

Valentine’s Day is made for celebrating the time you’ve spent with your current partner.  Why not commemorate this Valentine’s Day by recreating a date from the past? Whether you try and capture the magic of your first date together or simply retrace the steps you made on one of your favorite days as a couple, this can be a great way to make it a memorable Valentine’s for both of you.

Personalize Your Cards

Another Valentine’s Day element are the traditional cards you exchange with each other. The shops are awash with them already and most of them look the same and bear the same styles we see year in and year out. Why not buck this trend and create your own personalized Valentine’s cards from a site like this one and send a card that’s a bit more unique.

You can adorn it with a picture of your loved one or something you know will make them smile, while also filling the inside with your very own love poem. It doesn’t matter that you’re no Wordsworth, it will simply mean a lot because you took the time to write it.

With all the clichés and worn out sentiments thrown around at this time of year, it’s time to try something practically random and make this Valentine’s Day one that sticks in the mind for many years to come.
