Inspired Year Planner Review

Like almost everyone else I know, time management and work-life balance are not my strong suits. I hardly have time to figure out what to cook for dinner, much less set realistic personal and professional goals.

The Inspired Year Planner will help me become more organized and balanced. It’s very evident the planner’s creator, Kathy Pine, invested considerable thought into its design.

The cover phrase “always expect good things to happen” sets an optimistic tone for the rest of the planner.

Using tabs, the planner is divided into the months of July 2017 through June 2018. Then it’s further divided into individual weeks. The user fills out weekly sections which contains Goals, Daily Focus and Schedule.

At the beginning of each week, there are inspirational quotes such as, “Never give up on a dream because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway,” (Earl Nightingale) and “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away” (Pablo Picasso).

I have to admit my cynical and pragmatic personality made a few of the inspirational quotes a bit irritating. However, I think they are great incentives for overcoming the inevitable hurdles and obstacles found in conquering difficult and worthwhile goals.

At the beginning of every month, there is space to organize and plan actions for three goals in four weeks. In the section for January 2018, there is space to reflect on the past year (2017) and write New Year’s resolutions.

I am currently using this planner for two goals:

(1) To help me exercise more and eat healthier and

(2) To start playing the piano again.

I have set realistic goals for myself for this week and month in terms of workouts, eating and practicing. This planner has helped me focus and follow these goals.

I also like how I can track my progress (such as my energy level and mood) in the Notes section and set a daily schedule. Writing everything down and reviewing it adds perspective that’s often missed.

I am using the Inspired Year Planner for personal use, although this planner could also have professional use. For example, someone who owns their own business or wants to start a business.

Also, this planner is excellent for high school and college students who want to become more organized and add perspective.

It would be extremely useful to create an electronic version of this planner in an app. I believe today most people use planners on their phones and computers. Paper calendars and planners are usually neglected.

In addition, some might find it difficult to integrate their goals and schedules from this planner with their electronic work and social schedules. The Inspired Year Planner is available at the one love Paper Company for $39.95.

I wasn’t able to find reviews for the most current version of the planner on Amazon. Last year’s planner received excellent reviews on Amazon. I’m confident next year’s planner will be no different.
