A Trip Abroad to be Super Stepdad for Your Kids

Being a stepdad is not easy. The biggest hurdle is getting the children to root for you. Children are very sensitive and suddenly finding another person in their dad’s place can be quite upsetting for them.
Bond with a Trip Abroad
A great way to bond with the children is planning a trip abroad. It may cost you quite a bit but it will surely get the children on your side. Prepare things like the visa application, necessary documents and book your tickets to build the relationship of a lifetime with your stepkids.
Flying with Kids

You won’t even have to worry about waiting in long lines or running from one security check to another. Your children will show patience and fortitude you never thought they had. Once they are on the airplane there is plenty to keep them entertained and happy from onboard entertainment to meal time to just playing with the seat controls.
Make sure you work out all the paper work, such as visa application well in advance. Just in case be sure to pack some of their story books or coloring pages depending on their interests.
At the Hotel
Book your hotel in advance so that you can go straight away to the hotel once you reach your destination. You can choose destinations where there is visa on arrival, where the visa application process is simpler. Did I mention that children absolutely love hotels?

If you have booked a beach resort you won’t need to go anywhere out of the hotel as your children will spend the whole day building sand castles and swimming. While they enjoy, you can sort out travel particulars like pending paperwork and even do some work. A kid’s club in the hotel is an added bonus as they usually offer fun activities for the kids the whole week around. Your children will thank you no end!
Activities with the Kids

Make sure you spend the time you have with your children to find out what their interests are and what they are good at. Engage them in their favorite activities as there are plenty of options while abroad.
If you are stuck inside on a rainy day make the most of the time you have by playing different indoor games with your children. You will get to know them better and they will be more comfortable with you. On the way back you just might overhear one of them calling you their Super StepDad!
