Stepdad Father's Day

Stepfather Poetry ~ Stepdad (A Father’s Day Poem)

Stepdad

I have a dad, but he is not my father.
Explaining this can sometimes be a bother,
But as a dad, he’s like no other.

I remember when he was not here.
It was that way for a few years.
He became part of our family, despite my fears.

He tried hard to help Mom raise us.
He cooked, cleaned, took us to the bus.
After a time, I forgot the initial fuss.

Many years later, and he is still around.
Our family bond is strong and sound.
Another like him cannot be found.
